"Building a fort in the lounge at my Mum's house during rāhui (lockdown with my little niece. I spent the big lockdown of 2020 at my Mum's which meant I got to see a lot more of my 5 yr old niece, who was part of our extended family bubble. One of her favourite things to go was to build a fort using chairs and blankets in the lounge. I would set this up, with her helping, then we'd get all cosy and pretend to sleep inside it. And play lots of games throwing the toys around outside it. It's nice to get more time with the kids in my family."

I feel like because Auckland is so big, as individuals it can be quite isolating when constantly surrounded by strangers, but through seeing Auckland as less as a city and more of a community we can share experiences and become closer."

"I imagined if the spaghetti junction became repurposed as a walking/pedestrian space. This is an area that most people drive through on their way to the city. We could turn this part of the community into a leisurely space to rechange. The gulley could be replanted so you would be walking amongst trees and there could be food stalls and vendors so this would be a place for people to gather and talk to each other + connect. You could set up pockets of community spaces like gardens and playgrounds."
